So what this paint company does is take iron pollution from abandoned mines that are polluting soils and rivers and makes iron based red pigment paints out of it.
Basically they realized hey no one’s cleaning this shit up, it’s polluting the streams, killing all the fish, making the water undrinkable and there’s a huge market for it so why not make money by cleaning it the fuck up?
They remove this stuff by the industrial bucket load from the rivers. The idea is if it’s in a painting, if it’s in your home, it’s not poisoning wildlife.

This ban is gross, and FIDE is imposing it such a way that it gives them plausible deniability in case anyone (like the trans woman they banned) cries discrimination. Basically, they have decided that any trans women who has changed their gender on their FIDE ID and wants to compete in women’s FIDE competitions have to be individually screened and approved. This “screening” is under the guise of ensuring they still don’t have “a biological advantage” over the cis women who are also competing. This process “should be based on further analysis and shall be taken by the FIDE Council at the earliest possible time, but not longer than within 2 (two) years period,” which is how they create plausible deniability. This is effectively a two year ban for any trans woman who changes their gender markers and wants to compete with women, but it is worded so that it could be construed as not a ban. Based on this wording, as I am sure FIDE’s lawyers are aware, they could claim in a civil suit that this is not a “ban,” but is instead a screening process which could just so happen take up to two years. And, depending on the judge, I am certain that they could and would get away with this.
